Marma and Joint health
Indimasi Healing Village offers the specialized Marma and Joint Health programme, a focused 11 to 14-night residential retreat. Our approach utilizes classical Ayurvedic and Kalari therapies to reduce joint stiffness and restore natural mobility and flexibility. Located in Kerala, the programme integrates holistic care with targeted treatments, strengthening your body’s structural integrity. Rooted in authentic principles, this holistic pain management journey includes targeted herbal therapy, establishing Indimasi as a premier destination for long-term joint wellness.
Ayurvedic Procedure for Joint Health: Core Methods
Our Ayurveda for joint pain treatment is administered through a personalised plan, beginning with a thorough consultation to address your specific mobility concerns.
Abhyangam & Kizhi
(Medicated oil massage with herbal bolus therapy)
This initial stage involves Abhyangam (therapeutic oil massage) followed by Kizhi (application of heated medicinal pouches). We use these to address localised pain and stiffness, particularly in chronic conditions. The boluses contain customized herbs like Nirgundi and Eranda Patra, or medicated Njavara rice to improve circulation and reduce inflammation directly at the source.
Kalari Marma Chikitsa
(Vital Energy Point Massage)
A critical step in our natural treatment for joint pain, this specialized massage stimulates the 108 marmas (vital energy points) of the body. Kalari massage releases deep-seated tension in muscles and ligaments surrounding the joints, providing profound pain relief, improving energy flow, and enhancing overall flexibility.
Lepanam
(Herbal Paste Application)
Considered a cornerstone for targeted relief, Lepanam involves applying a thick paste of anti-inflammatory herbs directly onto the affected joint. This therapy effectively reduces localized swelling, pain, and stiffness. It is a powerful method for providing immediate comfort and initiating the healing process in specific problem areas.
Swedana
(Herbal Steam Therapy)
This therapy uses medicated steam to induce sweat, which helps to soften stiff tissues and flush out inflammatory toxins. Applied after oleation therapies like Abhyangam, Swedana opens up the body’s channels, reduces joint and muscle rigidity, and significantly improves the mobility of the concerned joint.
Therapeutic Yoga & Pranayama
(Mindful Movement for Mobility)
This deeply calming and strengthening practice is recommended for optimum results. Gentle, supervised Yoga postures improve joint stability and flexibility without strain. Pranayama (breathing exercises) pacifies the nervous system, which helps manage chronic pain signals and reduces stress that often contributes to muscle tension and stiffness.
Internal Herbal Support
(Systemic Anti-inflammatory Action)
A crucial component of our herbal therapy for joint pain, this involves prescribing customised internal medicines. These potent formulations are designed to digest metabolic toxins (Ama), strengthen digestive fire (Agni), and reduce systemic inflammation. This personalised herbal support works from within to restore long-term joint health.

Veera Nadimpalli2025-08-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Spent 3 days here for a rejuvenation. Overall the experience was positive, comfortable and relaxing. This is a more intimate setting compared to large Ayurvedic retreats - there were about 20 people and the staff knew everyone’s names. The price seems high at first but when you look at everything it includes, I think it is reasonable. We had yoga and meditation twice a day and kalari once a day. It also includes the Ayurvedic massage (90 mins everyday), doctor consultations and 4 meals a day. Rooms The rooms were very clean, comfortable and modern. Bathrooms were nice and had bidets. My room ac was a bit weak but the staff offered a new room and even tried to fix the ac. Food The restaurant has 4 meals a day. Ayurvedic food - Indian vegetarian. The food was nice and tasty. Everyone gets slightly different meals based on the doctor instructions. Yoga and meditation The classes were twice a day. Meditation is 30 mins before the yoga class. The morning yoga class is a very basic yoga and the evening is intermediate. This place does not have an emphasis on yoga as a practice, it is more of an important tool that complements Ayurveda healing. If you are looking for a yoga retreat this is not the place - the emphasis is definitely on Ayurveda and healing here. Although I enjoyed the yoga Kalari The classes were super fun, interesting and unique Location This place is 40 mins from the airport and is on a hill. They often provide airport transfer. Uber and Ola are not available in this area and it is on a hill. The last 10 mins leading up to Indimasi has roads riddled with potholes and are quite steep too. This makes it difficult to explore the area around you and step out if needed. The hotel provides transport for day trips - minimum 4 hours required for 2500 INR. This I thought was a downside but many people seem to want to only stay in the resort and really let the atmosphere sink in. I guess depends on your preference and reason for coming. Ayurveda The Ayurveda doctors were really nice and it seemed that many people come here to deal with certain health goals like weight loss, chronic illnesses etc. The 90 mins massage everyday was really nice and the rooms were clean. Staff and service The staff was really sweet everyone was really attentive Александра Бондарчук2025-08-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A unique place, imbued with the enormous power of creation and healing. There is a constant feeling that any guest is taken mother care for. Sophisticated doctors, absolutely professional and helpful staff, personalised approach to every client’s case, constant observation and care. Highest quality of service within quite simple and lean environment. Organic Ayurvedic food by talented chefs from the own farm. Greatest yoga and meditation practices accompanied by in-depth explanation of the purpose and impact of the practice to the body and mind. Pictures surroundings and variety of walking routs around the resort. Already planning my next visit❤️
